Overview
A 1/2 horsepower garbage disposer from Anaheim Manufacturing, sold with the power cord attached and built into a compact housing that leaves more room in the cabinet below the sink. It reads as a straightforward, no-frills unit rather than a multi-speed appliance.
That continuity, not any new feature, is the draw here.
- 1/2 horsepower permanent magnet motor
- Compact, space-saving design for tighter cabinets
- Power cord included, no separate wiring kit needed
- Made by Anaheim Manufacturing, a longtime food waste disposer producer
Who it's for
Fits homeowners replacing a worn-out disposer who want a compact 1/2 HP unit they can install themselves in under an hour. Not the pick for households that regularly grind large amounts of fibrous or dense scraps and want the headroom of a 3/4 HP or 1 HP motor.
Pros and cons
- 1/2 HP motor, less headroom for heavy or fibrous waste than higher-HP models
- Plastic knockout plugs must be manually removed for dishwasher hookup, an easy step to miss
Performance notes
The disposer uses a high-speed permanent magnet motor, which Anaheim Manufacturing positions as delivering more power per pound than larger induction motors.
