Overview
Unbleached parchment paper from If You Care, sold as a 70 square foot roll that is FSC certified and compostable. It is processed totally chlorine-free rather than bleached white.
The distinguishing point next to typical white parchment is the paper itself: it is left unbleached, processed without chlorine, and certified compostable and FSC sourced, which appeals to buyers who read ingredient and material lists closely on kitchen paper products.
- 70 square feet per roll
- FSC certified
- Certified compostable
- Totally chlorine-free, unbleached
Who it's for
Good for cooks who prefer unbleached, chlorine-free paper and want a compostable option for lining pans. Not the choice for anyone who specifically wants pre-cut flat sheets, since this is sold as a roll to cut yourself.
Pros and cons
- Unbleached and chlorine-free processing
- FSC certified sourcing
- 70 square feet per roll
- Sold as a roll, not pre-cut sheets
- No stated maximum oven temperature in the listing
Performance notes
Being totally chlorine-free means the paper is processed without chlorine bleaching, and FSC certification ties the wood pulp source to certified forestry. The compostable certification lets the used sheets go into compost rather than the trash, within the limits of any food residue left on them.
