Overview
Not a tank filter, the Aquatic Life RO Buddie purifies tap water before it goes into an aquarium. Water passes a sediment filter, a carbon block, a reverse osmosis membrane and a deionizing resin that changes color when spent.
Near-pure water gives full control over salinity and minerals for reefs and sensitive species. Its carbon block does not handle chloramines, which some city water uses.
Who it's for
Saltwater reef keepers, shrimp keepers and owners of humidifiers or fountains suit it. Anyone with chloramine in their tap water needs extra treatment.
Pros and cons
- Four filtration stages
- Removes most dissolved solids
- Visible DI exhaustion color change
- Also for humidifiers and fountains
- Does not remove chloramines
- Output rate only in title
- Full specs in a separate PDF
Performance notes
Each stage protects the next: sediment and carbon guard the membrane, which removes most solids, and the resin polishes the rest. Production slows with low tap pressure or cold water.
