Overview
Wilson builds the GST Composite with a microfiber cover and deep pebble so young quarterbacks get a firm grip. Two composite stripes are sewn across the ball for extra grip points, and this listing is the youth size for middle school players.
League approvals for Pop Warner and AFY let it serve as a game ball, and the composite cover holds up to practice better than leather. Players moving up to high school need the official size instead.
Who it's for
Seventh and eighth grade players and youth league teams get a league ready ball. Younger players need junior or pee wee size, and older players need official size.
Pros and cons
- Grippy microfiber composite cover
- Sewn composite stripes add grip
- Approved for youth leagues
- Durable for practice
- Youth size only in this listing
- Composite feel differs from leather
- Inflation needs not listed
Performance notes
The pebbled microfiber cover and stripe material give the fingers several grip points for throwing, even when hands sweat. Composite resists scuffing on practice fields, so the pebble lasts through regular use.
