Overview
A whitening shampoo for dogs and cats formulated to remove stains and yellowing from white coats without bleach or peroxide, in a 17 fl oz bottle.
The shampoo relies on optical brighteners and vitamin E rather than bleach or peroxide to lift yellowing and staining from white coats, which is the main differentiator from a standard whitening product. It is formulated dye free, paraben free and sulfate free. The listed scent is pink grapefruit, and pet type coverage extends to cats, dogs and horses despite the dog focused title.
- Optical brighteners instead of bleach or peroxide
- Sulfate free and paraben free
- Pink grapefruit scent
- Usable on dogs, cats and horses
Who it's for
Owners of light or white coated pets dealing with yellowing or staining who want to avoid bleach based whitening shampoos. Less relevant for darker coated pets, where whitening and brightening are not a concern.
Pros and cons
- No bleach or peroxide in the whitening formula
- Dye free, paraben free and sulfate free
- Contains vitamin E and green tea extract
- Rated for use on dogs, cats and horses
- Contains almonds, a concern for pets with nut related sensitivities
- 17 fl oz size means frequent reordering for larger or multiple pets
Performance notes
Optical brighteners handle the visual whitening effect while green tea extract and vitamin E are included for the coat and skin side of the formula. Being sulfate free and dye free, it leans toward gentler cleansing rather than heavy duty stain stripping.
