Overview
Home office workers and students get a compact USB webcam that adds HD video calling to a computer. It plugs into a USB port, works with common calling apps and uses a fixed focus lens with automatic white balance and exposure.
Clear enough video and a noise reducing microphone cover the basics of remote meetings with no extra hardware. The narrow field of view and fixed focus make it less suited to group calls or showing objects close to the lens.
Who it's for
Solo callers on Windows, Mac or Chromebook computers will find it covers meetings and family chats. Content creators and teams gathered around one screen should look at a wider, higher resolution camera.
Pros and cons
- Plug in USB connection
- Low light correction
- Noise reducing built in mic
- Works on Windows, Mac and ChromeOS
- Fixed focus lens
- Narrow field of view
- Standard HD video only
Performance notes
Image quality in dim rooms depends on the light correction feature, which brightens the picture but adds noise in very low light. Fixed focus means faces at normal desk distance stay sharp while objects held close to the lens blur. Still snapshot resolution is raised by software rather than the sensor.
