Overview
A home office or dorm desk is where this compact USB webcam goes, clipped above a screen and connected by cable. It records full HD video through a wide-angle lens and adds a microphone and a privacy cover for video calls.
The reason to buy is a no-fuss camera for meetings that works with common call software without setup. The limit is the fixed focus lens, which cannot refocus for close objects. The listing gives no microphone pickup details, and the optical zoom figures do not read as a real zoom lens.
Who it's for
Someone taking Zoom, Skype or Teams calls from a desk wants a camera that plugs in and works. It is not for creators who shoot product close-ups or need a lens that refocuses.
Pros and cons
- Wide viewing angle for group shots
- Physical privacy cover on the lens
- Plug and play over USB
- Low light correction listed
- Fixed focus, no autofocus
- No 4K option
- Microphone details not listed
Performance notes
A fixed focus lens holds a set distance sharp, so a user leaning in or standing far back will drift out of focus. The CMOS sensor and low light correction brighten dim rooms, though noise rises in weak light. The wide angle takes in more of the room, and the adjustable field of view narrows it when you want a tighter frame.
