Kalita's flat-bottom wave filter design sets the 155 dripper apart from cone-shaped pour-over brewers, in a heat-resistant glass body sized for 1 to 2 cups.
- Sized for 1 to 2 person brewing
- Heat-resistant glass body
- Flat-bottom wave filter design
- 4.1 inch holder diameter
Who it's for
Suits pour-over drinkers making a single cup at a time with 15 to 16 grams of coffee, who want consistent extraction without much technique. Not a fit for anyone wanting to brew for two full mugs at once or who finds multiple small pours tedious, since the larger 185 model exists for that.
Pros and cons
- Flat-bottom wave design gives consistent extraction
- Glass body keeps taste clean without plastic contact
- Easy to clean between brews
- Very small, often needing 5 to 7 pours per cup
- No window in the base to check fill level
- Fragile if dropped on a hard surface
Performance notes
Water is added in a series of small pours rather than one continuous stream, letting the grounds bloom and drain evenly through the flat-bottom wave filter before the next pour. The glass body doesn't transfer much heat, so the water going into the grounds stays close to pouring temperature.
