Overview
An 18 inch sheath from Rothco aimed at large blade or machete carry, worth confirming blade fit directly given a spec mismatch in the listing.
An 18 inch length points to a sheath sized for a large fixed blade knife or machete rather than a standard hunting knife. The listing also carries an alloy steel handle spec, which does not fit a sheath and looks like a data mismatch rather than an actual feature, so it is worth confirming directly on the product page what blade length the sheath is built to hold.
- 18 inch length
- Rothco brand
Who it's for
Owners of large fixed blade knives or machetes who need an 18 inch sheath for belt or pack carry. Not for anyone with a standard length hunting or utility knife.
Pros and cons
- Sized for large 18 inch blades or machetes
- Listing includes an alloy steel handle spec that does not fit a sheath, a likely data error
- No material given for the sheath itself
Performance notes
An 18 inch length places this sheath in the range built for machetes or large survival knives rather than standard hunting blades, where a shorter, closer fit sheath is typical. Buyers should verify the exact blade length range the sheath accommodates before ordering, since the listing's own spec data is inconsistent.
