Toro 51609 Ultra Electric Blower Vacuum 12 Amp

Overview

Clearing leaves, sticks and debris from beds, walks and patios is the job of the Toro Ultra, a corded handheld blower that converts to a vacuum and leaf shredder. A metal impeller moves the air, the variable speed control sets airflow anywhere in its range, and shredded leaves go into the included collection bag.

Three tools in one body, blowing, vacuuming and shredding, cover most yard clean-up without a gas engine to maintain. The metal impeller is the rugged core of the vacuum and shredder. The cord limits range, and the listing does not give a shred ratio or bag size.

Who it's for

Suited to leaf clean-up around a house, patio and driveway where an outdoor outlet is close by. Owners of big lots or anyone who wants cordless freedom should look at a battery or gas model.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

Clearing force depends on both air speed and air volume: speed lifts debris off the ground and volume carries it away. Variable speed lets you drop power near mulch or gravel beds. In vacuum mode the metal impeller does the shredding, so leaf condition and bag fill decide how long you work between emptying.
