Overview
A powered subwoofer from Behringer, model B1200DPRO, built around a 12 inch driver and rated at 500 watts. It is a wired unit weighing 43.1 pounds with a clip on mount point for a satellite speaker.
At over 20 inches on each side and 43 pounds, the B1200DPRO reads as a floor standing pro audio subwoofer rather than a home theater box tucked under a TV stand, the kind of unit built for a stage or a large room. The clip on mount point is a common feature on this class of subwoofer, letting a satellite speaker sit on a pole socket above the sub instead of a separate stand.
- 12 inch driver
- 500 watts rated power
- Clip on satellite mount point
- 43.1 lb, wired connectivity
Who it's for
Suits someone setting up a PA or DJ rig who needs a floor standing 12 inch sub with a pole mount for a top speaker. Not a match for a living room home theater system, where its size and pro audio build are more than the room calls for.
Pros and cons
- 12 inch driver rated at 500 watts
- Clip on mount for a satellite speaker
- 43.1 lb and roughly 20 inches per side, a large footprint
- Wired only, no wireless connectivity listed
Performance notes
500 watts driving a 12 inch driver in a roughly 20 by 20 inch enclosure is the kind of pairing built for output and low end reach in a larger room, not for a small den. The wired connection and clip on top mount point are standard for stage or PA subwoofers, where a matching satellite speaker sits on a pole directly above the sub rather than on its own stand.
