Overview
Dry dog food formulated for small breeds, in a shredded blend of chicken and rice with added probiotics, sold as a 6 lb bag from Purina's Pro Plan line.
The shredded blend format mixes kibble pieces with shredded meat-style pieces, a texture Purina uses across several Pro Plan lines to add variety to the bite versus a uniform kibble shape. The 6 lb bag size fits the smaller daily portions small breed dogs need compared to a bag sized for larger dogs.
- 6 lb bag
- Chicken and rice shredded blend
- Small breed formula
- Contains probiotics
Who it's for
Owners of small breed dogs wanting a chicken and rice formula with probiotics included, in a bag size that will not go stale before it is used given a small dog's smaller daily portions.
Pros and cons
- Formulated specifically for small breed portions
- Shredded blend adds texture variety to standard kibble
- Probiotics included for digestive support
- 6 lb bag size is not economical for larger dogs or multi-dog households
Performance notes
The probiotics are included to support digestive health, a common addition across Purina's Pro Plan lines, while the shredded blend texture is meant to appeal to dogs that prefer some variety in kibble shape over a uniform pellet.
