Overview
Diamond Naturals packages this 6 pound bag as a chicken and rice puppy formula for small and medium breeds, also labeled suitable for nursing adult dogs.
Diamond markets this as a holistic formula built with superfoods and probiotics, aimed at supporting coat and eye health alongside general puppy growth. The recipe is also positioned for nursing mothers, not just growing puppies, since lactating dogs have similarly elevated nutrient needs.
- 6 lb bag, chicken and rice recipe
- Small and medium breed puppy formula
- Includes probiotics for digestive support
- Also suited to nursing adult dogs
Who it's for
Fits owners of small to medium breed puppies wanting a holistic, higher protein starter food, and breeders feeding nursing dams. Not intended for large or giant breed puppies, which need a growth formula calibrated to slower bone development.
Pros and cons
- High protein chicken and rice recipe
- Probiotics included in the formula
- Suited to both puppies and nursing dams
- Preservative-free ingredient list
- Not formulated for large or giant breed puppies
- Small 6 lb bag for larger litters
Performance notes
Probiotics are built into the kibble at a specified level for digestive support during the growth stage, alongside superfood ingredients aimed at coat and eye development. The high protein content mirrors what nursing dams and growing puppies both need, which is why Diamond lists both uses on the same bag.
