Overview
Onnit's MCT Oil is a flavorless medium-chain triglyceride oil sourced from coconut, sold in a 24-ounce bottle for stirring into coffee, shakes or using in cooking.
The blend is described as containing C8 and C10 caprylic and capric acid fractions along with lauric acid, the medium-chain fatty acids commonly associated with keto and paleo diets. Beyond the fatty acid profile named on the label, no further formulation detail is provided.
- Coconut-sourced MCT oil
- Contains C8, C10 and lauric acid
- Flavorless
- 24 ounce bottle
Who it's for
People following a ketogenic or paleo diet who want a neutral-tasting MCT oil to add to drinks or meals. Not the choice for anyone who wants a product isolated to only C8, since this blend also includes C10 and lauric acid.
Pros and cons
- Flavorless, mixes into coffee, shakes or cooking without taste change
- Contains C8, C10 and lauric acid MCTs
- Sizable 24 ounce bottle
- No allergen or dietary certification details provided
- Blend rather than an isolated C8 product
Performance notes
Being flavorless, the oil is meant to blend into coffee or shakes without altering taste, and the combination of C8, C10 and lauric acid reflects a broader-spectrum MCT blend rather than an isolated single fatty acid.
