A classic motion lava lamp in a volcano base with changing colors, for a desk, dorm or playroom. It is an incandescent decor lamp, not a bright light, and the listing says nothing about warm-up time.

Overview
A bulb in the base heats the wax, which oozes up and down the glass globe, splitting and combining as it moves. The cone-shaped volcano base is aluminum and carries a decal finish.
Motion is the whole attraction, with a soft glow that suits a night table, desk or shelf. The Colormax version changes colors. Warm-up time, wax color details and bulb replacement are not covered.
Who it's for
People who like retro decor and want a conversation piece for a bedroom, dorm, office or playroom. Those needing bright task light, or an LED lamp, need a different type.
Pros and cons
- Classic moving wax effect
- Color changing design
- Aluminum and glass build
- Several room uses
- Incandescent bulb, low light
- Warm-up time not listed
- Not water resistant
Performance notes
Heat from the bulb melts the wax at the bottom, and as it warms it rises through the liquid, then cools and sinks back. That cycle gives the slow motion. Incandescent heating means the lamp needs time to settle before the effect shows.
