Overview
In a boat locker, this Seachoice set stores four orange foam vests in one bag. Each has an adjustable strap and buckle closure, with a polyester lining, a vinyl outer shell and PE foam filling.
The reason to buy is a ready set for a boat with several adult passengers, stored in one bag. Adjustable straps help with fit. The limitation is the weight guidance, which lists the same figure as both minimum and maximum, and no child sizing is given.
Who it's for
Boat owners carrying adult guests who want a stowable set will find the single bag useful. Parents of small children, heavy paddlers and anyone needing a specific coast guard approval should check the labels first.
Pros and cons
- Four vests in one pack
- Storage bag included
- Adjustable strap and buckle
- Bright orange color
- Weight range listed oddly
- Adult size only
- Approval details not in listing
- Bulky compared to inflatables
Performance notes
A foam-filled Type II vest floats using buoyant material rather than a gas cartridge, so there is nothing to arm or service. Fit controls performance: the strap should be adjusted snug so the vest does not ride up. Replace a vest if the foam or fabric is damaged.
