Overview
Builders who want a big, open-ended coaster get the Quercetti Skyrail Ottovolante, a large marble run with a long run of track and a gear driven elevator. Turning the hand crank carries marbles back to the top so the racing never stops.
A crank powered return lift and a huge track length are the reasons to buy for patient builders. Track length is listed two ways, and a build this size takes floor space and time.
Who it's for
Kids who enjoy engineering long courses, often with a parent, fit here. Very young children should start with a simpler run.
Pros and cons
- Hand crank return elevator
- Very long track total
- Many pieces for custom builds
- Ten marbles included
- Track length listed two ways
- Large build footprint
Performance notes
Gravity carries marbles down the track, and the geared elevator lifts them back, so each turn of the crank restarts the loop. Track layout and slope decide the speed.
