Overview
This is the 22 lb bag of IAMS Proactive Health Dry Cat Food, an adult chicken recipe built around digestive, heart and skin and coat health, with chicken fat and fish oil among the named ingredients.
Where the smaller IAMS bag skews toward trial feeding, this size is the bulk option. It lists Brazil nut allergen information rather than the chicken meat allergen note carried on the 7 lb version, suggesting slightly different sourcing documentation between package sizes even though the recipe reads the same. Buyers should not assume the two sizes are identical batches.
- 22 lb bag, chicken flavor
- Chicken fat and fish oil in the recipe
- Adult life stage formula
- Immune, digestive, skin, coat and heart health claims
Who it's for
Works for multi-cat households or anyone who wants to buy adult cat food in bulk rather than repurchasing a small bag monthly. Not for kittens, since it's adult-formulated only.
Pros and cons
- 22 lb bag reduces reorder frequency for multi-cat homes
- Chicken fat and fish oil support skin and coat
- Beet pulp included for digestive support
- Large bag can go stale before a single cat finishes it
- Adult-only formula excludes kittens
Performance notes
Chicken, chicken fat, fish oil and beet pulp form the core of the recipe, aimed at supporting muscle, skin, coat and oral health alongside immune and digestive support claims. As with any large bag, freshness depends on how quickly it's used and how it's stored once opened.
