Worth it for anyone who wants filtered tap water from a fixed faucet with an outside aerator; pull-out faucets are not supported and parts of the spec sheet are mislabeled.

Overview
Not a pitcher or an under-sink system, the PUR PFM150W threads straight onto a kitchen or bathroom faucet and filters water at the point of use. A lever flips between filtered and plain tap flow, and an indicator light tells you when to swap the cartridge.
Certified reduction of lead and microplastics at the faucet, plus a change light, covers the daily drinking water job. Faucet type is the gate: pull-out heads and internal aerators will not work. Some spec fields carry another product's name, so lean on the bullets.
Who it's for
Kitchens and bathrooms with a standard faucet and an exposed aerator are where it works. Owners of pull-out or internal aerator faucets will not get it to mount.
Pros and cons
- Certified lead reduction at the tap
- NSF certified microplastics reduction
- Tool-free installation with on/off lever
- Change light flags filter replacement
- Not for pull-out or internal aerator faucets
- Spec sheet lists an unrelated wall plate
- Filter needs replacing every few months
- Flow rate not listed
Performance notes
Water passes through the cartridge only when the lever selects filtered flow, so the filter is not spent on rinse water. Lifespan is tracked by volume and time, and the light flags when the cartridge is used up. The external aerator thread is what holds the unit, so fit depends on the faucet, not the sink.

Can the PUR PFM150W replace bottled water?
