Overview
Yamaha's black Amazon-exclusive digital piano pairs fully weighted keys with built-in speakers and a Duo mode, in a modest footprint meant for rehearsing, learning and creating at home.
The reason to buy is a weighted hammer-action keyboard with speakers and a pedal in the box. The limit is the missing MIDI connection and a warranty that applies only to purchases from authorized retailers.
Who it's for
A beginner or returning pianist practicing at home who wants an acoustic-style touch. Producers who need MIDI ports, or players who plan to carry the keyboard to gigs, should look at a lighter, better connected model.
Pros and cons
- Weighted hammer action
- Sustain pedal included
- No MIDI connection
- Stand and bench not mentioned
- Warranty limited to authorized retailers
Performance notes
Fully weighted keys with hammer action recreate the resistance of an acoustic piano, and the voices include a grand piano sound. Sound comes from the built-in speakers, or from the headphone jack for quiet practice. The USB port handles the computer connection, and the description notes it can also feed an amplifier.
