Overview
A 12 inch by 6 foot roll of Oracal 651 permanent adhesive vinyl in matte black, made for vinyl cutters and craft cutting machines rather than hand application. The 2.5 mil calendared vinyl is rated for medium term indoor and outdoor use.
This is a raw material for a cutting machine, not a finished decal, so the facts that matter are thickness, adhesive type and liner quality rather than any design already on it. The 84 pound silicone release liner is built for clean weeding, so the unwanted vinyl around a cut design lifts away without tearing the design.
- 12 inch by 6 foot roll
- 2.5 mil calendared vinyl thickness
- 84 pound silicone release liner
- Rated for medium term indoor and outdoor use
Who it's for
Fits anyone running a vinyl cutter or craft cutting machine for wall decals, window lettering, car graphics or custom cups and tumblers. Not useful without a cutting machine, since the roll ships as plain matte black vinyl with no pre-cut design.
Pros and cons
- Permanent adhesive suited to outdoor use
- Silicone liner weeds cleanly
- Works on walls, windows, cars and cups
- Compatible with standard vinyl cutters
- Requires a cutting machine to use
- Permanent adhesive is not easily removable
Performance notes
The calendared construction and 2.5 mil thickness give it enough body to cut cleanly on a vinyl cutter while staying thin enough to conform to curved surfaces like cups or car panels. Because the adhesive is permanent and solvent based, it bonds for medium term outdoor exposure rather than being designed to peel off cleanly later.
