Overview
A 9'10" x 9'10" freestanding pergola in smoke-colored knitted HDPE fabric that blocks 90 percent UV while staying breathable, set on powder-coated aluminum poles with assembly hardware included.
This is built as a fixed backyard structure rather than something you fold away between uses, which is the key distinction from a pop-up canopy. The knitted fabric roof lets warm air pass through instead of trapping it, and Coolaroo claims that cuts the temperature underneath by up to 32 percent compared to open sun. Care instructions specifically rule out bleaching the fabric.
- 9'10" x 9'10" freestanding footprint
- 90 percent UV block from knitted HDPE fabric
- Semi-permanent design, not a fold-away canopy
- Smoke-colored fabric on a powder-coated aluminum frame
Who it's for
Homeowners who want a fixed shade structure over a patio dining or lounge area and prefer breathable fabric to a solid hard-roof gazebo.
Pros and cons
- Knitted fabric stays breathable instead of trapping heat
- Powder-coated aluminum poles resist rust
- Assembly hardware included in the box
- Fabric can't be bleached, which limits cleaning options
Performance notes
The knitted HDPE fabric blocks 90 percent UV while letting warm air escape rather than trapping it under a solid roof, which Coolaroo says cuts under-canopy temperature by up to 32 percent versus open sun. The powder-coated aluminum poles are built to resist rust through repeated weather exposure.
