Overview
An activated coconut carbon block is the filter medium in this Aqua Crest cartridge, made as a stand-in for the UKF8001 used in several Maytag, Amana and Whirlpool refrigerators. The pack includes month install stickers and a user manual.
The reason to buy is repeat changes from one purchase, with a broad compatibility list across three brands. The limit is the lack of a stated filter life or capacity.
Who it's for
Households with a listed model get a supply for several changes, with stickers to track dates. Owners of other brands or unlisted models should confirm the cartridge type first.
Pros and cons
- Three filters per pack
- Lists many Maytag and Amana models
- Coconut carbon block media
- Lead-free food-grade materials
- Filter life not stated
- Model list needs checking
- Fits the UKF8001 cartridge only
Performance notes
Water flows through the carbon block, which traps particles and taste compounds as it passes. Real filter life depends on water quality and usage, so the install stickers help track changes. A mismatched cartridge can fail to seat or leak.
