Overview
Not a short patch lead, this long black coaxial run ends in F-type connectors on both ends and covers antenna, cable, satellite and modem connections.
Cimple Co lists a wide set of uses and a stated frequency range, and the UV rating makes it fit for exposed runs. Details that matter for long runs, such as the shielding layers, are not described.
Who it's for
Installers and homeowners with a long distance between wall jack and equipment suit this lead. Buyers wiring HDMI, optical or RCA gear should look at a different connector.
Pros and cons
- Long length covers wide rooms
- F-type male at both ends
- UV rated for outdoor use
- Ten year warranty
- Shielding layers not described
- Not a female-end adapter
- Heavier than a short lead
Performance notes
Signal loss in coaxial cable rises with length and frequency, so a long run gives up some signal at the high end of the stated bandwidth. A thicker conductor and better shielding reduce that loss and block interference. Tight bends and loose connectors often cause more trouble than the cable itself.
