Levoit Air Purifier Filter

Overview

A single cylindrical replacement for the Levoit LV-H133 series, stacking a pre-filter, a main filter rated to 99.97 percent of particles down to 0.3 micron, and an activated carbon layer. The cylinder draws air through a full 360 degrees rather than one face. Levoit puts replacement at six to eight months.

Levoit ties the LV-H133's filter-life indicator to the genuine cartridge, so a third-party filter can leave the reminder counting down against the wrong assumptions. That matters more than it sounds on a purifier you are meant to leave running: the indicator is the only thing telling you the media is spent, since airflow drops too gradually to notice day to day.

• Three stages in one cylindrical cartridge
• 99.97 percent down to 0.3 micron
• Six to eight month replacement interval
• Made for the LV-H133 series only

Who it's for

LV-H133 owners running the purifier in a bedroom or main living space where it is on most of the day, and who would rather trust the built-in reminder than track replacement dates themselves. Households with pets or a smoker will reach the lower end of the six-to-eight-month window.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

The cylindrical form is the part worth understanding. A flat panel pulls air across one face, so the corners do less work and the media loads unevenly. Drawing through a full circle spreads the dust across the whole surface, which is what lets one cartridge hold a six to eight month interval in a room that would clog a flat filter well before then.
