Klipsch RP-600M Reference Premiere Bookshelf Speakers

Overview

A titanium tweeter mated to a hybrid Tractrix horn handles the high frequencies in these Klipsch Reference Premiere bookshelf speakers. A woofer covers the low end inside a freestanding cabinet made for a shelf or stand. The set arrives as a matched pair for stereo listening.

The horn-loaded tweeter is the reason to look at this model, since it aims for clear highs from a compact cabinet. Hi-res audio is listed as a feature. The limit is connectivity: the listing shows a wired coaxial connection and no wireless option, and it does not say what amplifier it needs.

Who it's for

A living room or office listening setup with a shelf, console or pair of stands is the natural home for these. Skip them for any space where a wireless link is required, because none is listed.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

The horn shape on the tweeter controls how the high frequencies spread, which shapes clarity at the listening position. Woofer size and cabinet volume decide how low the bass reaches, so the listed frequency response is the figure to check against your room. Because the speaker is freestanding, its position relative to walls changes how much bass you hear.
