Overview
An Amazon Basics exterior door knob with a keyed lock, in the Coastal style and a matte black finish, built with a brass body and steel internal structure for front doors and other entry points.
This is a keyed entry knob rather than a privacy or passage knob, meaning it locks with a key from outside and includes two brass keys on a KW1 keyway. The steel internal structure sits under the matte black finish for durability, and Amazon backs it with its own 1-year limited warranty rather than a lifetime one.
- Keyed entry knob, matte black Coastal style
- Brass body with steel internal structure
- Two brass keys on a KW1 keyway
- Amazon Basics 1-year limited warranty
Who it's for
Suited to a front or side entry door that needs a keyed lock in a matte black finish. Not the choice for an interior bedroom or bathroom, this has no privacy-only, no-key option.
Pros and cons
- Brass body over a steel internal structure
- Two keys included on a standard KW1 keyway
- Adjustable latch fits common backset sizes
- Matte black Coastal styling for entry doors
- 1-year limited warranty, shorter than Kwikset's lifetime coverage
- No listed rekey or Microban feature
Performance notes
The adjustable latch runs from 2-3/8 to 2-3/4 inches and fits doors 1-3/8 to 1-3/4 inches thick. The lock body assembling hole is about 2-1/8 inches in diameter and the latch assembling hole about 1 inch, with a rounded steel faceplate, strike plate and zinc alloy latch bolt included.
