Overview
Tigofly's MT041-A pack bundles five pieces of mylar tinsel in assorted colors, weighing 1.7 ounces total, aimed at fly tiers building patterns for trout.
Holographic tinsel like this is a fly-tying accent material, wrapped into a fly body to catch light underwater and draw a trout's attention. The MT041-A pack keeps the tinsel in large-size strips rather than the finer threads used for smaller flies.
- Holographic tinsel finish
- Mylar material
- 1.7 ounce pack weight
- Target species trout
Who it's for
Fits fly tiers stocking a materials box for trout patterns who want an assorted-color tinsel pack rather than a single shade. Not useful to anglers who do not tie their own flies, since this is a raw material, not a finished lure.
Pros and cons
- Assorted colors in one pack
- Large size suits bigger trout flies
- Five pieces per pack
- Large size only, no smaller strip option
- No listed length per piece
Performance notes
Mylar tinsel gets its effect from flash rather than movement, so its role in a fly pattern is visual attraction under water rather than action, and the large size here suits bigger trout patterns over fine nymphs.
