Overview
A spinning fan cage on the motor shaft draws air into the cabin ducts, and this front HVAC unit arrives with the cage mounted. The listing ties it to full-size Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac and Hummer vehicles.
Broad coverage across the Silverado family and its Cadillac and Hummer cousins will interest a shop that services mixed GM fleets. The listing leaves out electrical rating, weight and material, so the old motor is the reference for connector and cage fit.
Who it's for
Owners and independent shops fixing HVAC airflow across the listed GM brands. Someone expecting labor and towing to be covered by the guarantee will be disappointed, and anyone with a different platform needs another motor.
Pros and cons
- Fan cage included
- Covers many full-size GM vehicles
- Long model year span listed
- One year unlimited mileage guarantee
- Voltage not stated
- Weight and size unspecified
- Guarantee excludes labor and towing
Performance notes
Airflow depends on the motor speed and how truly the cage runs on the shaft, since an unbalanced cage buzzes before it fails. The blower resistor and wiring in the vehicle also set the speed steps at the vents, so a weak fan is not always the motor.
