Overview
The Jamo S 81 CEN is a black center channel speaker with a 4 inch driver, wired connectivity, and magnetic mounting hardware. It's built to anchor dialogue in a home theater array rather than serve as a full-range main speaker.
As a dedicated center channel, its role is handling dialogue and on-screen sound rather than covering a full frequency range on its own, which is typical of single 4 inch driver designs. The magnetic mounting listed points to a grille or bracket system rather than a specific installation method like wall or shelf mounting.
- Dedicated center channel speaker
- 4 inch driver
- Wired connectivity
- Black finish with magnetic mounting
Who it's for
Suited to buyers filling out or replacing the center channel in an existing surround system, especially if matching Jamo's S series lineup. Not meant to stand in as a full-range speaker outside a multi-speaker home theater setup.
Pros and cons
- Purpose-built center channel for dialogue clarity
- Wired connection for a stable signal
- Magnetic mounting hardware included
- Single 4 inch driver limits it to center channel duty, not full-range use
Performance notes
With a single 4 inch driver, it's built as a center channel handling midrange dialogue duty within a larger speaker system, wired directly to the receiver rather than connected wirelessly.
