Overview
A living room or a small recital space is where this Arabic oud belongs, since it is a purely acoustic instrument with no pickup. Walnut, spruce and ebony form the body under a varnish finish, strung with nylon.
Handmade construction and an included soft case make it a ready-to-play start for anyone learning Arabic music. Because it is acoustic only, there is no jack for amplification. The listing is thin on measurements and scale length.
Who it's for
A player learning oud for home practice or small gatherings will find the package practical. Stage performers who need amplification should consider an electric model.
Pros and cons
- Handmade walnut build
- Spare strings included
- Soft case included
- No pickup or jack
- Soft case only
- Scale length not listed
Performance notes
Hollow walnut and spruce construction resonates naturally, and nylon strings give the soft, rounded attack of an oud. Without a pickup, volume depends on the room and the player's touch.
