Overview
A 13.2-gallon Amazon Basics kitchen trash can in brushed stainless steel with a satin nickel finish, built with a soft-close lid, foot pedal and a removable plastic inner bucket. Overall dimensions run 14.8 by 16.7 by 25.9 inches.
At 13.2 gallons this sits toward the larger end of a kitchen trash can rather than a small bathroom or office bin, and the stainless exterior is specifically described as smudge resistant, which is the detail that matters most for a surface handled daily with a foot pedal nearby.
- 13.2 gallon / 50 liter capacity
- Soft-close lid with foot pedal
- Removable inner bucket
- Brushed stainless, satin nickel finish
Who it's for
Fits a kitchen or office wanting a full-size can with hands-free foot operation and a quiet, soft-close lid rather than one that bangs shut. Anyone needing a compact bin for a small bathroom or under-desk space should look at a smaller-capacity model instead.
Pros and cons
- Soft-close lid operates quietly
- Removable inner bucket for easy cleaning
- Smudge-resistant stainless finish
- 13.2 gallons is large for tight spaces
- Foot pedal is manual, not sensor-based
- Stainless still shows fingerprints under heavy handling despite the finish
Performance notes
The soft-close lid mechanism is what keeps the can from slamming shut after each use, working alongside a manual foot lever rather than a sensor. The removable inner bucket is the piece that gets carried out and washed, which keeps the outer stainless shell from taking direct contact with trash bags.
