Overview
The CRKT D4040 is a plastic knife sheath, not a knife itself, sized for a blade around 4 inches long. At 1.1 ounces it is built to be carried on a belt rather than used as a standalone tool.
Unlike some sheath listings that turn out to be mislabeled knives, this one lines up: the title says sheath, the material is plastic throughout, and the 4.14 inch length and 1.1 ounce weight both sit in the range typical of a small fixed-blade sheath rather than a knife. CRKT sells sheaths both bundled with knives and separately as replacement parts, and this listing does not confirm which knife it is meant to pair with.

Who it's for
Useful for a CRKT knife owner who needs a replacement or spare sheath sized for a roughly 4 inch blade. Not the listing to buy if you are shopping for the knife itself.
Pros and cons
- Light at 1.1 ounces for belt carry
- Sized for a compact roughly 4 inch blade
- Does not include a knife
- Specific knife model compatibility not confirmed
Performance notes
A one size plastic sheath at this weight is designed purely to protect the blade edge and allow belt carry, with no locking or retention specs given here to describe how securely it holds the knife in place.
