Purely Elizabeth Vanilla Almond Butter Grain Free Granola 8 oz

Overview

An 8 ounce bag of grain free granola from Purely Elizabeth, flavored with vanilla and almond butter and made with MCT oil in place of the usual grain base.

Grain free granola typically swaps oats for a mix of nuts, seeds and coconut, which changes both the texture and the calorie density compared to an oat based bag. MCT oil, short for medium chain triglycerides, is included as a fat source rather than the more common canola or coconut oil, which is the detail that sets this apart from a standard almond butter granola. The listing itself is sparse, so beyond the grain free and MCT claims there is little else described.

• 8 ounce bag
• Grain free formula
• Made with MCT oil
• Vanilla almond butter flavor

Who it's for

Suits shoppers following a grain free or low carb diet who still want a granola style snack, and anyone specifically looking for an MCT oil ingredient. Not the right pick for someone wanting a traditional oat based granola, since there are no oats in a grain free formula.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

Without oats as a base, grain free granolas rely on nuts, seeds and sometimes coconut for their crunch, and MCT oil in the mix points to a fat source chosen for how it is metabolized rather than for flavor. Vanilla and almond butter are named as the flavor profile, layered over that grain free base.
