Overview
A series-wound motor driving a planetary gear train gives this WARN winch faster line speed under load with lower amp draw. The Albright contactor lives in a relocatable control pack, and the sealed build resists water and dust.
High capacity, sealing and a long warranty make it a dependable recovery tool for heavy trucks. It needs a compatible bumper or plate, and the steel rope is heavy and can kink.
Who it's for
Owners of heavy trucks who wheel or work off-road will use the capacity. Light SUV and Jeep owners should look at a smaller winch.
Pros and cons
- High pull capacity
- Faster line speed under load
- Relocatable control pack
- Waterproof sealed build
- Mounting plate not included
- Heavy steel rope
- Fairlead not listed
Performance notes
Line pull drops as rope stacks on the drum, so the rated figure applies on the first layer. The planetary gears and series-wound motor keep speed up under load while drawing less current from the battery.
