Overview
Pulling loads with a ratcheting lever, this manual come along winch uses dual gears and a cable with three hooks to tug vehicles, stretch fences and pull frames into place.
Hand operation means no power source is needed, and the portable size fits in a trunk for recovery and shop use. The description lists many jobs, but the listing does not state cable diameter or lever length, so confirm the rigging fits your needs.
Who it's for
Truck and trailer owners, farmers stretching fence and shop workers straightening heavy parts get a portable hand tool. Anyone who needs a mounted powered winch for regular recovery should buy an electric model.
Pros and cons
- Large pulling capacity
- Dual gear action
- Portable trunk size
- No power source needed
- Slow manual operation
- Cable diameter not listed
- Anchor point required
Performance notes
A ratchet lever multiplies hand force through the gears, so a person can pull loads far heavier than they could move directly. Pulling is slow because each stroke advances the cable a short step, and the ratchet holds the load between strokes. Capacity depends on a secure anchor and on pulling in a straight line.
