Overview
The Sharpal 191H is a manual, suction-mounted sharpener with three stages: two tungsten carbide slots for setting and restoring an edge, plus a ceramic stage for fine honing. A separate slot handles scissors, and the whole unit needs no batteries or power cord.
This is an accessory that pairs with the knives and scissors already in a kitchen drawer rather than a knife itself.
- 3-stage design: tungsten carbide, ceramic, scissors
- Suction-cup base for stability
- No batteries or power required
- Compact for drawer storage
Who it's for
Suits anyone maintaining straight or serrated kitchen knives and shears who wants a no-power option that sits on a counter during use. One reviewer called out that it did not sharpen their knife as well as hoped, so results vary with blade condition and how many passes are used.
Pros and cons
- Works with no batteries or cord
- Suction base frees both hands
- Separate scissors stage included
- Manual effort required, several passes per blade
- One reviewer found results underwhelming on a knife
- Ceramic stage only refines, does not repair damage
Performance notes
The three stages are meant to be worked in order, tungsten carbide first to reset a damaged edge, then ceramic to refine it.
