Giantex GT3644-PO 3-in-1 Charcoal BBQ Smoker

Overview

The Giantex GT3644-PO is a charcoal smoker built from iron, standing 32 inches tall with a 16 by 20.5 inch footprint. At 13 pounds it's light for a smoker, which usually means thinner gauge metal than heavier competitors.

Its vertical proportions, taller than wide, fit the layout of a compact charcoal smoker meant for a patio or backyard corner rather than a wide horizontal offset smoker. Iron construction at just 13 pounds keeps it light to move, though thinner metal on a smoker can mean less heat retention over long cooks than a heavier build.

Who it's for

Suits someone with limited outdoor space who wants a compact charcoal smoker and doesn't need all day heat retention for competition length smokes. Less suited to anyone planning long, low and slow cooks where a heavier gauge smoker holds temperature more consistently.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

Charcoal supplies the heat in a vertical iron body, and the tall, narrow shape typically works by drawing heat and smoke upward past the food. At 13 pounds, the metal gauge is on the lighter side for a smoker, which tends to mean faster heat loss in cold or windy conditions compared to heavier steel builds.
