Overview
Coconut shell activated carbon fills each cylindrical filter, which replaces the factory cartridge in newer GE refrigerators. The filter removes chlorine and odor to improve taste.
The reason to buy is a three-pack of replacements that lists many GE models, so a family of filters is covered for several changes. The limitation is that it fits only the newer GE units named, and the listing does not give a replacement interval or flow rate.
Who it's for
GE refrigerator owners who need replacement filters for a recent bottom freezer or side-by-side model fit this pack. Anyone with an older GE, or another brand, should match their fridge's part number before ordering.
Pros and cons
- Three filters in one pack
- Coconut shell activated carbon
- Lists many GE models
- ANSI and NSF testing listed
- Fits newer GE models only
- Replacement interval not listed
- Lead reduction not listed
Performance notes
Activated carbon adsorbs chlorine and odor molecules as water passes through, improving taste. Fit depends on matching the GE series, since the filter's connection style is specific to the newer refrigerators. The listing does not give a flow rate or capacity in gallons.
