Overview
Paddling for recreation and touring is the job of this kayak paddle, which uses an adjustable shaft so one paddle can match different boat widths and paddlers. The listing names fiberglass as the material and carbon fiber as the blade style.
The adjustable shaft is the practical benefit, because one length setting does not have to serve every paddler or boat. The listing leaves out weight, blade area and the locking mechanism, which are the figures that decide how it feels over a long day.
Who it's for
Recreational and touring kayakers who share a paddle or change boats will use the adjustable length. Paddlers who need a specific blade shape or a published weight should compare maker specifications before ordering.
Pros and cons
- Adjustable length range
- Carbon fiber blade style
- Aimed at recreation and touring
- Long four year warranty
- Weight is not listed
- Blade area and shape unspecified
- Locking mechanism is not described
Performance notes
Blade size and shaft stiffness govern how much effort each stroke takes, and a lighter paddle reduces fatigue over a full day. A longer shaft setting suits a wider boat or a low paddling angle, while a shorter one suits a narrow boat and a high angle.
