Overview
Players who want a travel-size guitar with upgraded looks get a GS Mini built with a koa top and layered koa back and sides. Taylor Expression System electronics plug into any amp, and an AeroCase protects it on the road.
Koa adds a sweet, sparkling tone and striking figure to an easy-playing short-scale body. The compact size limits low end and volume.
Who it's for
Studio, couch and stage players who like a smaller guitar with high-end woods. Big-body fans should look at a dreadnought.
Pros and cons
- Koa top and body
- Short scale eases playing
- Less bass than full size
- String row says nickel
- Listed weight seems high
Performance notes
Koa gives a sweet, focused voice that opens with playing, and the short scale lowers string tension. The Expression System pickup governs plugged-in clarity.
