Overview
Amcrest makes this dome camera for watching a room, a pet or a nursery over Wi-Fi. Infrared and LED light power the night view, and an app controls the picture and motion alerts.
Watching a pet or an entryway from a phone is the practical use, with color at night and a wide view. The limitation is that it is indoor only, corded, and the listing lists a single alert type.
Who it's for
A living room, kitchen or hallway with a nearby outlet is the setting. Buyers who want to watch a porch or yard should choose a weatherproof camera.
Pros and cons
- Color night vision
- Wide viewing angle
- Wall mount option
- Indoor use only
- Needs a power outlet
- Motion alerts only
- Storage options not listed
Performance notes
Two night light sources illuminate the room, and the camera sends the picture to the app over Wi-Fi. Motion detection triggers alerts when something moves in the field of view. A wider viewing angle covers more of a room but makes distant details smaller.
