Overview
The Amcrest ASH21-B is a video baby monitor with 1080p resolution and color night vision. It weighs 8.48 ounces, transmits video wirelessly, and the camera itself runs on corded power rather than battery.
Amcrest built its name on home security cameras, and the ASH21-B carries that background into the nursery with 1080p video and color night vision rather than the grainy black-and-white feed common on budget monitors. Running the camera on a cord means less battery swapping, but it also ties placement to an outlet.
- 1080p resolution
- Color night vision
- Wireless connectivity
- Corded electric camera power
Who it's for
Parents who want sharper video than a basic monitor offers and don't mind running a power cord to the camera. Less suited to families who need a fully cordless camera for a nursery far from any outlet.
Pros and cons
- 1080p resolution for sharper video
- Color night vision instead of black and white
- Wireless video transmission
- Camera requires corded power, not battery
- 4.0 rating trails category leaders
Performance notes
1080p resolution and color night vision are the two specs that shape the viewing experience, delivering clearer detail than the 480p, black-and-white feeds on cheaper monitors. Wireless connectivity handles video transmission, but the camera draws power from a cord rather than a battery, so cable routing matters at setup.
