Overview
The AQ-5KDC from Aqua Crest is an under-sink filtration cartridge rated for 5000 gallons of activated carbon filtration. Despite the Filtration System category label, its 1.3 lb weight and compact dimensions point to a single replacement filter rather than a full multi-stage unit.
Its NSF/ANSI approved components and 5000 gallon rated capacity make it a long-life option for reducing reorder frequency.
- Activated carbon filtration
- 5000 gallon capacity rating
- Under-sink install type
- NSF/ANSI approved components
Who it's for
Fits anyone with an existing under-sink filter housing looking for a long-life carbon cartridge. Not a fit for someone wanting a full RO system with pump and tank included, given its light weight and single-cartridge size.
Pros and cons
- 5000 gallon rated capacity extends filter life
- NSF/ANSI approved components
- Compact under-sink footprint
- Light 1.3 lb build suggests a single cartridge, not a full system
- No install hardware details given
Performance notes
Activated carbon filtration works by adsorbing chlorine, odor and some organic compounds as water passes through, and the 5000 gallon rating gives a sense of how long the cartridge lasts before replacement is needed. NSF/ANSI approved components add a baseline of material safety assurance.
