Overview
The Kasa Spot Camera Monitor is a WiFi-connected 1080p smart camera many parents use as a baby monitor, made by TP-Link's Kasa brand.
This is a general smart home camera rather than a dedicated baby-monitor unit with a standalone parent handset; it connects over WiFi and is viewed through the Kasa app. The Night Color feature distinguishes it from cameras that switch to grainy black-and-white infrared once the room lights go off.
- 1080p resolution
- Color night vision
- WiFi connectivity
- Corded electric power
Who it's for
Parents who already have reliable home WiFi and want to monitor a nursery through a phone app rather than a separate handheld receiver. Not the right pick for anyone who wants a dedicated monitor that works without an internet connection or app.
Pros and cons
- 1080p resolution with color night vision
- Works through WiFi and a phone app
- Requires a stable home WiFi connection
- Corded power limits placement options
- No standalone parent handset, app only
Performance notes
Color night vision keeps the picture from switching to grainy black-and-white infrared once the room lights go off, useful for checking a baby's position or color without waking them with a bright light. Since it's corded rather than battery powered, placement is limited to wherever an outlet reaches.
