Overview
The Retevis RT68 is a six-radio FRS walkie talkie set aimed at businesses, with ear hook earpieces, a 500mW speaker and a six-bay charging station included. Retevis markets it as license-free for use in schools, retail stores and hospitality settings.
Where a hobbyist handheld like the Baofeng needs programming and a license, the RT68 is built to be handed out at the start of a shift and collected at the end: six units, six earpieces and one charger station so a manager can keep the whole fleet powered overnight.
- 6-pack with matching earpieces
- 6-way simultaneous charging station
- 500mW speaker output
- Sealed, non-removable antenna
Who it's for
Restaurants, retail floors, schools and hotels that need to equip a small team with radios anyone can pick up and use immediately. Not aimed at long range outdoor use or licensed ham operation.
Pros and cons
- Six radios with six ear hook earpieces included
- One charger station powers the whole set at once
- License-free FRS operation
- Rugged body rated for shock and vibration
- 500mW speaker favors indoor range over open outdoor distance
- No channel count or battery runtime given in the listing
Performance notes
The 500mW speaker is sized for indoor and near-field use rather than open-field distance, and the rotating ear hook earpieces are built to switch between left and right ears for shared or rotating shifts. Multiple charge protections, overcharge, over-voltage and short circuit, on the six-way station are aimed at the wear of daily commercial charging, and the sealed non-removable antenna is built for durability over raw range.
