Overview
This dual-sided crib and toddler mattress from the Serta Perfect Slumber line has a waterproof cover on both faces and a firm fiber core made from recycled plastic bottles, so it can be flipped over when a child moves from crib to toddler bed.
Because both sides carry the same waterproof cover, flipping it for a fresh surface at the toddler stage does not mean losing waterproofing on one side, which is a common gap on single-sided mattresses. It carries a 7-year warranty and is made in the USA.
- Dual-sided waterproof cover
- Greenguard Gold certified, made in USA
- 7-year warranty
- Fits standard cribs and toddler beds at 27.5 in W x 52 in L x 5 in H
Who it's for
Parents who want one mattress to cover both the crib and toddler bed stages without buying a second mattress. Not aimed at anyone who wants a specialty foam feel rather than a firm fiber core.
Pros and cons
- Waterproof cover on both sides for a true flip-and-reuse design
- Greenguard Gold and JPMA certified
- 7-year warranty, made in USA
- Fiber core made from recycled plastic bottles
- May take a day or more to fully expand after delivery, longer in a cold room
- Firm fiber core rather than a foam feel
Performance notes
The core is a firm sustainably sourced fiber made from upcycled plastic bottles, which keeps the surface supportive for infant sleep. Square corners are built in for a snug fit against crib rails, and the maker notes the mattress may need 24 to 72 hours to fully regain its shape after delivery, especially in a cold room.
