Overview
The Babelio crib mattress is a dual-sided design with a firmer infant side and a softer memory foam toddler side, covered in a machine-washable knit fabric over a waterproof, fiberglass-free liner.
Like other dual-sided crib mattresses in this batch, the pitch is one mattress covering both the infant and toddler stages rather than two purchases.
- Fits standard crib and toddler bed at 52 in x 27.5 in
- CertiPUR-US certified, fiberglass-free foam
- Two removable, machine-washable covers
- Dual-sided firm infant / memory foam toddler design
Who it's for
Parents who want a certified, dual-firmness mattress at a lower price point than the organic options, and who value having a spare cover on hand for quick changes. Less suited to anyone who wants an extra-thick mattress feel.
Pros and cons
- Dual-sided firm and memory foam design
- Two removable, washable covers included
- CertiPUR-US certified, fiberglass-free foam
- Thinner profile at 4.7 in than some buyers wanted
- Should not be placed on a crib's spring-style bottom, per one reviewer
Performance notes
The firmer side is meant to support a newborn's spine and the memory foam side conforms more for a toddler's comfort. Air holes through the foam are meant to help heat escape, and the knit cover plus waterproof non-woven liner are both removable for washing.
