Overview
Not a reverse osmosis system, the Frizzlife filter is a direct under-sink carbon block unit that runs on line pressure. Water passes through layered cartridges to a dedicated faucet, and the filters twist in for replacement.
Certified reduction of lead, chlorine, taste and odor at a strong flow is the reason to fit it. Only the inner cores are replaced, which cuts plastic waste. It leaves dissolved solids alone, so hard or high-TDS water stays that way.
Who it's for
Homes on treated municipal water wanting better taste and lead reduction will see the benefit. Well water with high dissolved solids, or anyone chasing low TDS readings, needs reverse osmosis instead.
Pros and cons
- Certified to two NSF/ANSI standards
- Strong flow from line pressure
- Quick DIY installation
- Twist-in filter changes
- Does not reduce TDS
- Filter life not listed
- Ice maker kit sold separately
Performance notes
Contaminant reduction depends on contact time in the carbon block, so very high flow or old cartridges lower performance. Fine filtration catches particles that coarser filters miss. The added pressure regulator protects the housings from surges.
