Overview

The Duxtop BT-200T1 is an 1800W single induction burner that installs flush in a countertop or sits on top of one. Controls run through a sensor panel with an LED screen, offering 15 power levels from 200W to 1800W and 15 temperature presets between 140F and 460F.

Induction transfers energy directly into the pan, so the glass itself never becomes the heat source. That gives a claimed 83 percent efficiency, quick response when you change settings, and a surface that wipes clean because spills do not bake onto it. Cookware has to be magnetic with a base at least 5 inches across; aluminum and most copper pans will not register.

  • 1800W induction, 170 minute timer
  • 15 power levels and 15 temperature settings
  • 83 percent rated energy efficiency
  • Sensor touch panel with safety lock

Who it's for

A common choice for van and RV builds, small kitchens and anyone who wants a second burner without adding gas or 240V wiring. Cooks committed to an all aluminum or copper pan set should skip it or budget for new cookware.

What buyers say

From Amazon customer reviews.

Long term owners are notably positive about durability. One used it as the only cooking source in an RV for a year, took it to Burning Man for two weeks of outdoor cooking, filled it with dust until the fan got noisy and cracked the glass with a dropped pan, and it still ran six months later. Another replaced a gas cooktop with two of these on a single 110V outlet and noted both can run at full power, unlike most 240V double units. The recurring complaint is temperature accuracy: one owner measured well over 500F at a mid setting, with oil smoking, and now uses power mode exclusively. Several warn against plugging 1800W into a surge protector.

Strengths and trade-offs

Drawn from this product's published specifications.

What stands out
  • Flush mount or countertop, same unit
  • 15 power steps from 200W to 1800W
  • Glass stays cool enough that spills wipe off
  • Holds up to dust, drops and van life
What to check first
  • Temperature presets overshoot the set number
  • Magnetic cookware 5 inches or larger only
  • Should not share a surge protector strip
  • Single burner, so two units for two pans

Performance notes

Power mode is the setting experienced owners rely on; the temperature presets track loosely and can run hotter than the number suggests. Real draw scales with the level - roughly 700W at 2.5 and about 1500W at 8 by one owner's measurement. At 1800W it belongs in a wall outlet or heavy duty extension cord, not a surge protected power strip. A safety lock freezes the settings once cooking starts.
